SUMMERS

The summer season from October to April brings lush green landscapes and much warmer temperatures. Guests’ game drive rangers are experts at tracking the movements of all animals within the park. Chances are better to see newborn animals and migrating bird species during this time of year.

  • Follow the road signs to PRETORIA and N1 POLOKWANE.
  • After approximately 36km you will see large signs over the highway, follow the directional signage for PRETORIA and N1 POLOKWANE / NORTH and turn onto this highway.
  • After passing a number of off-ramps, you will see signs for a toll road called BAKWENYA PLATINUM HIGHWAY / N4 / RUSTENBURG. Take the left slip-lane off the N1 Highway to get on to this toll road.
  • You are now on the N4 Highway. Continue on the N4 and PASS THROUGH 3 TOLL GATES and THE TOWN OF RUSTENBURG.
  • Approximately 6km after Rustenburg, take the off-ramp marked SUN CITY / PHOKENG.
  • Continue through the village of BOSHOEK (We advise that you refuel at Boshoek, as there is no fuel available inside the reserve) and proceed until reaching a stop street indicating a right turn to Sun City. DO NOT TURN RIGHT to Sun City, CONTINUE STRAIGHT.

Dining

More Than Just a Meal
Dining at Jaci's is about more than exceptional food. It's about connection — shared tables, fireside conversations, and the simple pleasure of eating well in the bush.

With a background in the restaurant industry, Jan brings a deep understanding of dining to the lodge. From his personally curated wine cellar in the Main Lodge to the way each meal is thoughtfully planned, there is a clear attention to detail and genuine love for the experience of eating well.

Our chefs bring years of experience and a passion for flavour, working with fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create generous, thoughtfully prepared dishes. Meals unfold across different settings throughout the lodge; each one relaxed, memorable, and distinctly Jaci’s.

A Personal Touch

Jan's Wine Cellar
Tucked within the Main Lodge, Jan’s private cellar reflects a lifetime in the restaurant industry and a genuine passion for wine. Personally curated over time, the collection brings together exceptional South African labels alongside well-loved classics.

Guests are invited into this intimate wine room to explore, taste, and enjoy – a quiet, considered extension of the dining experience at Jaci’s.

Ever-Changing Settings

Dining, Throughout the Lodge
At Jaci’s, where you eat is just as important as what you eat. Meals unfold across a variety of settings – from the Main Lodge deck, to the elevated Thutlwa Deck, to evenings gathered around the fire in the boma overlooking the Marico River.

Each location offers a different atmosphere, ensuring no two meals feel the same, and every dining experience feels fresh, considered, and memorable.

After the Morning Drive

Bush Breakfasts
After your morning game drive, return to a generous, freshly prepared breakfast served in the open air. With the bush waking up around you, it’s a relaxed and satisfying start to the day.

Expect a hearty spread of hot and cold options, thoughtfully prepared and enjoyed at a slower pace.

Fireside Evenings

Boma Dinners
Set under the stars and overlooking the Marico River, boma dinners are a highlight of the Jaci’s experience. Gather around the fire for a traditional South African braai, where meals are prepared over open flames.

On select evenings, the atmosphere comes alive with the rhythm of song and dance from our team – a celebration of culture, connection, and shared experience.

Refined Yet Relaxed

Evening Dining
Evenings at Jaci’s are centred around beautifully prepared, multi-course meals that balance refinement with generosity. Each dish is thoughtfully created using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a strong focus on flavour.

Out in the Bush

Sundowners
Pause during your afternoon game drive for a classic safari ritual – a drink in hand as the sun sets over the bush. Served with a selection of light snacks, it’s a moment to slow down, take it all in, and enjoy the transition from day to night.

A More Intimate Experience

Private & Romantic Dining
For something more personal, private dining experiences can be arranged on request. Whether on your private deck, or in a secluded corner of the lodge, these moments are designed for connection and celebration.

Subject to availability, each setting offers a quiet, memorable way to experience dining at Jaci’s.

A Jaci's Tradition

Cheeky Chilli
A much-loved ritual at the table, Jaci’s Cheeky Chilli brings a little heat and a lot of personality to each meal. Inspired by Jaci’s travels and love of bold flavour, it’s a simple but memorable part of the dining experience – shared, talked about, and always enjoyed.

Wellness

Finfoot Treatment Room
A tranquil space for restorative treatments, designed to relax and rejuvenate in the heart of the bush.

Our skilled massage therapists from the local community offer a range of treatments tailored to your needs – from deep tissue massage to aromatherapy sessions that restore balance and calm.

The Finfoot treatment room provides a peaceful retreat where you can fully unwind between safari activities, emerging refreshed and reconnected.

Massage treatments require prior arrangement and are subject to availability. Additional costs apply.

Along the Marico

River Path Walk
Enjoy a guided or self-paced stroll along the Marico River, where the riverine forest supports abundant birdlife and occasional wildlife sightings – including elephants cooling off in the water.

This gentle walk offers a peaceful way to connect with the landscape at your own rhythm, discovering the smaller details of the bush often missed from a vehicle.

Note: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times and should remain close, not run ahead, and watch the ground underfoot.

Refresh & Gather

Pool & Boma
Between game drives, retreat into spaces designed for rest and renewal. Cool off in the lodge’s main pool – a tranquil space to relax and recharge.

Our private villas each feature their own heated pools, offering complete seclusion and privacy for families and groups.

As evening falls, the boma comes alive with the crackle of the fire and the aroma of wood-grilled meals. Gather under the stars for shared dinners, stories, and the unmistakable warmth of safari hospitality.

Game Drives

Twice Daily

Game Drives
Experience the magic of Madikwe through twice-daily game drives led by expert guides. Dawn and dusk bring the bush to life – these golden hours offer the best opportunities for wildlife encounters.

Our open safari vehicles allow for unobstructed viewing and photography, while our experienced team shares deep knowledge of animal behaviour, ecology, and the stories written in tracks and signs.

  • Morning and afternoon drives daily
  • Sundowner stops with drinks and snacks
  • Coffee stops on morning drives
